Robot Floor Vacuums – Should You Consider Buying One
Robot Floor Vacuums – Should You Consider Buying One?
Robot floor vacuums are very “hip” today. But before buying one you need to know what they are meant for. If you think these vacuums can take the place of your canister vacuum and that your cleaning will all be completely hands-off, you are wrong and will be disappointed. Even though robot floor vacuums are good and easy-to-use floor cleaners, they still are no match to the deep cleaning ability of canister vacuums.
So, the question is – why would anyone want to buy robot floor vacuums?
Here’s the answer:
Robot Floor Vacuums are Convenient to Use:
The primary reason why most people use these vacuums is that they are extremely convenient. They are battery chargeable and operate hands-free which means they can work completely independently. You don’t have to ‘use’ them to clean the floors. They clean the floors on their own.
In this very context, these vacuums tend to be the choice of people who are usually too busy to spend time cleaning their rugs and floors. You can set a timer or daily/weekly schedule, and while your robot is cleaning your floors you can be handling other tasks (or simply taking a much-needed break!). These vacuums can suck up dirt and dust from your rugs and floors and also clean up heavier messes such as dried up mud.
No Hassle of Cleaning Up:
Another major reason why people use these robots is that they are extremely easy to care for. All you need to do is simply empty the dust bin as it becomes full. In addition, you also need to check up the unit periodically for any caught or tangled debris. That’s all you have to care for with these robots!
Should You Buy Robot Floor Vacuums?
The final decision of buying robot floor vacuums rests with you. If you have the time to manually clean your floors with a vacuum or if you have heavier-duty messes, you may want to consider sticking with a canister vacuum as it is much more powerful. However, if you want to make your life easier and be able to multi-task by having a vacuum that can clean your floors while you do the laundry, one of these robot floor vacuums may be for you.
Remember, the specifications of each robot vacuum can vary greatly from one another. Some robots come with integrated schedulers while for some you have to buy the scheduler separately. In general, the more features a robot has the higher its price will be. So you should be very selective when choosing one for yourself. Don’t be allured by (and end up paying for!) features you don’t really need.
Lastly, you need to know your floor surfaces well. If you have thick rugs that need heavy duty vacuuming, robot vacuums may not be able to handle them. Regardless of how great a specific robot floor vacuum may be, if it does not work with your flooring it will not serve its purpose well.
